We're Two Leaves and a Bud, an independent tea company in the mountains of Colorado with a mission to make a great cup of tea accessible to everyone while doing our part to protect the environment. We go to great lengths to source each ingredient of our tea from the highest quality regions in the world, including obtaining rigorous organic certifications.
We demand a lot from a cup of tea. And now that you’ve found us, so can you.

Our origin story
While traveling extensively in Asia for business in the 90s our founder Richard was introduced to fresh, whole-leaf tea and it was love at first sip.
His knowledge and passion for tea grew as he spent time in the tea gardens in Sri Lanka, India and China, developing relationships with the organic tea farmers. His career path took a new course when he dedicated himself to making the tea he discovered in Asia accessible back home in the States.

Plant-Based Packaging
Our boxes of tea and everything in them are either recyclable or compostable. Our pyramid tea sachets and wrap are made with what may look like plastic but is actually Polylactic acid (PLA). PLA is plant-based, petroleum-free, and is certified compostable. Often, our sachets and wraps are backyard compostable, but as composting conditions can vary, you can always look for a commercial composting facility in your area.

We like malty tea from Assam, honey-scented Chamomile, and matcha lattes that aren’t too sweet. We like it when the tea, herbs and spices in our tea sachets and latte mixes stand out and become the reason we look forward to the next sip. We’re particular about tea that comes from sustainable, organic gardens where the pluckers are paid fairly. We’re also painstakingly particular about packaging that keeps our tea fresh but doesn’t have to end up in a landfill.
