501c3 Tea

Where we are inspired by organizations that have taken strides to ensure a higher quality of living here in this gorgeous rock we call Earth, so we support their valuable and effective missions because we want to have a positive impact on the world.

Protect Our Winters (POW)

POW was founded by professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones to build awareness and community-based action around climate change. POW mobilizes athletes and winter-enthusiasts who are concerned about the effects of climate change.

Why we care: Up here in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, we see the impact of warmer, shorter winters first hand. Diminished and quickly melting snowpacks in mountain ranges all over the world puts drinking water and agriculture at risk, including tea gardens.

Our part: One percent of sales from our Purpose-Filled Teas is donated to POW.

National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS)

NOLS was founded in 1965 by legendary mountaineer Paul Petzoldt. NOLS takes students of all ages on remote wilderness expeditions, teaching technical outdoor skills, leadership and environmental ethics in the world’s wildest and most awe-inspiring classrooms.

Why we care: NOLS had a big hand in fostering the values of our CEO and founder, Richard Rosenfeld. He has served as a NOLS instructor since 1997, and he feels that lessons learned in nature can often be applied to our everyday personal and work lives. Are we perfect partners? Sip a cup of tea in the great outdoors, then let us know what you think!

Our part: One percent of sales of our Alpine Berry herbal tea sachets is donated to support a NOLS scholarship.

WE-Cycle is a nonprofit that provides accessible and affordable bicycles for transportation and to facilitate seamless connections to other transportation options in and around Aspen, Basalt, and the Roaring Fork Valley.

Why we care: Richard is an enthusiastic cyclist. In fact, he toted his folding Brompton bike all over the world for years, first discovered bike-sharing in Paris, and now uses local bike-sharing programs wherever he travels. We share WE-Cycle’s vision: a world in which increased bike and multi-modal transportation use fosters more livable, vibrant, healthy, and environmentally-engaged communities.

Our part: Richard serves on the board of WE-Cycle, so Two Leaves has sponsored bicycles, bike stations and passes for our team members.

In-Kind Donations

We choose to base our tea company in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado because we love living in the mountains! We also love being good neighbors, and that’s why Two Leaves and a Bud supports dozens of organizations in our area, providing nearly $5,000 in tea annually to bolster their fundraising efforts.
