Description

Yixing teapots are made in the "pottery capital of China" 100 miles west of Shanghai, where the world's first teapots were made during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD). Prized for their quaint charm and special tea brewing qualities, each pot has a personal "chop mark" on the bottom, as a reminder of the artist's skill and care. For best enjoyment, warm the teapot with hot water, then add tea leaves and boiling water for brewing. Never wash with soap — simply rinse out used leaves with fresh water.

short-description:
The "basket weave" of this yellow, single serve Yixing teapot is handcrafted earthenware, and with continued use will develop a rich patina that enhances the taste, color and aroma of fine tea.
