Tariff and Price Increases Information
Tariffs have put significant pressure on the cost of our teas and raw materials. We work hard to keep our prices steady without compromising on quality, sourcing, or values. Tea, however, is not grown in the US and has been hit hard by tariffs.
We had anticipated that tariffs would start impacting our costs this summer, but the April and May tariffs went into effect and were back-dated in an unexpected way — we have already paid 125% tariffs on teas from China and a 10% general tariff on all imports.
Therefore, we will be increasing the prices on our website and Amazon starting on Monday June 16.
The on again/off again nature of these tariffs means there could be more than one round of price increases. We’re doing everything we can to minimize the impact, though, of course, we cannot know what will come down the road next. We will keep you informed as we know.
In addition to the tariff related uncertainty, the matcha shortage in Japan - where we source all of our matcha - has resulted in further price increases industry wide. As such, you will notice that the prices on matcha will be raised a bit more than the other items.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
