These golden orange pekoe tea leaves are grown in the steeply sloping gardens of hilly Darjeeling, India. Just like the protected status of "Champagne," "Darjeeling" only applies to tea grown in that specific region of India.

This tea has richness, refinement and smoothness with a satisfying little bite of tannins that allows me to add a cloud of 1% milk after 5 minutes of steeping, without drowning out the flavour. Notes of sweet tobacco and a hint of smoke are complemented by light woody flavours, the fresh bright taste of young high-quality semi-fermented leaves, and finished with a prominent and complex floral note of orchids. Everything works together beautifully, but it's the orchid notes that make this tea unforgettable. A great tea that you can savour with each sip. Well done, and unusual at this price.
